I’m Karen-I’m from Kansas City.
I’m the youngest in the family. If you believe in the birth order, I suppose I am the classic youngest child.
My Dad gave me my first camera, it took 126 format film and looked a lot like this

I think I was late grade school age or early junior high. I took so many pictures with that thing I thought I would wear it out.
Then came along the 110 cameras, I thought I was really uptown when I got this

I used this camera until I bought my first 35mm. As you can tell, photos have always been a part of my life, much to the chagrin of my friends and family. Although, now that we are older my friends are happy for the visual history of our past.
Digital entered my life about 9 years ago. They were so expensive my sister and I had to split the cost of the camera and share it. Technology has changed so much we each now have DSLR cameras and we’ve handed that old digital down to our 8 year old niece.
My DSLR, an EOS Canon Rebel XT (EOS 350D) has opened a whole new world. With it, I’ve found a renewed passion. I’ve found beauty in the everyday. Although landscapes are my favorite things to shoot, I’ve been asked lately to do portraits. So, I’m studying up on how to do those.
