Exciting stuff…

posted in Play |

Okay, just have to drop a note to share…I just booked a two (hopefully two and a half) hour horseback ride on the beach in South Carolina. I hope it lives up to everything I want it to be.

Nancy, I am SO going to take you with me one day! No questions asked! If it weren’t for you letting me ride Roxy when I was little I would never have developed a love for horses.

I’ll post some pictures Sunday.

Two hours. Wow, you might be walking a little funny when you get done! It sounds great though. I haven’t been on a horse since the “Roxy” days. I always dreamed of owning some horses, but Elbert hates them. And so goes another dream that bit the dust. I doubt if I could even get on a horse now. My friend has a horse that is going to have a baby and she is more excited about that then when her grandkids were born.

Have fun!! I can’t wait to see the pictures!

Nance - Oh I know! Two hours on a horse and I may never walk normal again! It will be worth it though, I know it. I always wanted a horse growing up, always thought the lake would be a perfect place for one. Dad thought otherwise. Nice of Mom and Dad to later get goats though…yeah somehow it just wasn’t the same. ha ha.

lol, yep, your folks were quite the farmers weren’t they. Goats. I still can’t figure out where that idea came from. They had chickens too didn’t they? I can understand that. At least you get eggs to eat, but goats????

I’ll tell you where that idea came from…According to Mom, one day they were out buying eggs from a lady who off handily mentioned she was trying to find a home for her two goats (mother and daughter). Dad said - without skipping a beat ‘oh we’ll take them’ Mom said ‘WHAT?!’ and off they went right then and there to their new home…the chicken thing though…that was another story. After being raised on a farm, Mom said she would raise chickens for eggs, but she refused to clean them.! lol, and Dad never made her. Ahhh, the things you try when you have too much free time on your hands. :P
