The Power of One

posted in Uncategorized |

I tell people all the time that no one can control your mood except you. Why can’t I take my own advice?? Why????

I woke up this morning on the right side of the bed. Okay, I was a little tired. I slept in a little. Usually when I do this, I’m not quite as alert as I usually am. That said, I don’t think I was grumpy or short tempered or even irritable. So why is it that one statement made by one person could ruin my entire day? Why did I allow her that kind of power? Why as humans do we allow people that kind of power? I wish I knew…

Hmmm….I wish I knew the answer to that question too.

Somedays I can roll with it, so to speak. And other days someone can say something and I dwell on it and get upset over it.

We are emotional creatures. That is who we are. I guess, I try to tell myself it is okay to feel what I feel, but try to not let it consume me. I think that, and then say, life is too short, people can be cruel, but I will try to do the best I can regardless.

Sometimes when I tell myself that it works…and sometimes not so much.

Huh…. I just talked myself in a circle.

    Nevermind. Carry on…

    Lola-
Believe it or not, I know what you mean. Sometimes people can say a lot worse to me and it doesn’t bother me at all. I think right now I’m just a tad over-sensitive. Shhh, if you repeat that I’ll deny it! :) *sigh* I need spring and I need it soon!!!

    Thanks for the kind words.
